OLD MAN ATTACKED
BEATEN AND ROBBED MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED Press Association BLENHEIM. Friday. An alleged robbery with violence occurred at Pieton on Christinas Day. Mr. J. C. "Wiese, a Pieton resident, was accosted early in the afternoon on the foreshore by a woman, who said she wanted to have a wash. Mr. Wiese took her to his homo and later a man appeared on the scene and savagely attacked Mr. Wiese, rendering him insensible. Mr. Wiese is 63 years old. A sum of JL* 9 was removed from his pocket and the pair decamped in a borrowed dinghy and began to row down the harbour. Tim constable, on becoming aware of tho facts, gave chase and captured the pair. They wore brought before Justices of the Peace today and remanded till January 2.
