THE AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB'S SUMMER CARNIVAL opened at Alexandra Park yesterday before a large crowd. The pictures show, top: The finish of the Rowe Cup. Raima (J. J. Kennerley) winning by a head from Rose Bingen (A. J. Julian). Lower: Mr. E. J. Parkes, owner of Gold Jacket, which won the Auckland Trotting Cup, receiving the Cup from the club president, Mr. John Rowe. On Mr. Parkes’s right is the trainer, Mr. L. McMahon, and on his left the driver, A. Bryce, who received a gold-mounted whip.
