PRETTY WEDDING AT TE AWAMUTU
ATTENDANTS IN ORGANDIE FROCKS WINTER—HOUSTON A very pretty wedding took place at St. John’s Church, Te Awamutu, on Monday bet/veen Annie Sheila, only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Houston, of Te Awamutu, and William Maurice, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Winter, of Great South Road, Auckland. The Rev. Stephen R. Wareing, vicar of Te Awamutu, performed the ceremony. The bride wore a beautiful frock of white satin, trimmed with white silk lace, and her bridesmaid, Miss Linda Bray, was attired in a green organdi frock with cream lace. She was also attended by two little flower-girls, June and Shirley Blundell, who wore early Victorian frocks of pink and maize organdi, with posies to match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Jim Carnahan, who carried out the duties of best man. After the wedding breakfast, which was held at the Parish Hall, the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon, which is to be .spent in the North. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Audrey Venus, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Letts, of Mount Eden, to Ivan Reyburn. eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr, H. S. Wilson, of Mount Eden. The engagement is announced of Irene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Stone, of George Street, Onehunga, to Mr. Stanley Brown, youngest son of Mr. and Airs. G. A. Brown, of Paddington, London. The engagement is announced of Phyllis Eileene, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Mayson, of Herne Bay, to Philip Edward, only son of the late Air. H. Bradburn and Airs. C. Grindrod, of Manurewa.
The engagement is announced of Edith Winifred, eldest daughter of Air. and Airs. A. Hirst, of Leicester, England. to Chief Petty Officer Kenneth Brodie Fraser, H.AI.S. Dunedin, eldest son of Airs, and the late A£r. S. E. Fraser, of Auckland.
