LUNA PARK
THRILLING ATTRACTIONS
No effort has been spared by the management of Luna Park to provide amusement for young and old. There are devices dear to the hearts of the young and attractions whose appeal to elder people is proved by the large numbers of adults which have been partakirig of them. Never since the great exhibition in the Domain in 1913 has such a wonderland been seen in Auckland. Thrills, those indescribable sensations which modern youth so dearly loves, are to be had in plenty. Within the confines of the great barricade made by the scenic railway has been gathered a host of delights.
Perhaps the greatest appeal to many is made by the scenic railway. To take a trip on this wonderful contrivance is to run the whole gamut of sensations. In spite of the excitement it offers the railway is fool-proof. Nothing can possibly equal the thrill of a trip in one of the small cars. One is borne a.loft to be swept over the tops of inclines and down to the depths of seeming endless declivities, with an almost unbelievable smoothness and
facility.. Then there are the sideshows, which act as a magnet to nearly ever:/ one. The management has been fortunate in securing several particularly nne sideshows this year, the chief attractions Jit the present moment being Elsia, “the half-man and half-woman, and Jolly Ray, the fat girl. The. Park will be open this evening and every afternoon and evening nexi week.
Paul Muni will enact the role oi Rasputin in the all-talking Fox Movietone production, “The Holy Devil.” Muni and Berthold Viertal have hit it off so
well as star and director in “Seven Faces,” now nearing completion, tna Viertal has been assigned to d^ecthm 1 in his new picture. Muni’s desire to portray the role of the mad monk is based on the world’s knowledge the man who had a hypnotic P°* e over women, men and nations, as described by Rene Fulop-Miller in h book.
