DEAD HEAT IN SPRINT TARANAKI MEETING JPress Association NEW PLYMOUTH. Friday. The Taranaki Jockey Club’s meetng was concluded today in misty veather. Rain fell for the last two •aces. The attendance was fair and lie totalisator handled £ 15,135, eomiared with £22,906 10s on the second lay last year, making the total for the
meeting £42,317 10s, compared with £48,656 10s, a decrease of £6,339. Following are the results:

up, Raima took command, and, finishing strongly, captured the prize. * * * A. Julian drove a splendid rac» oc Rose Bingen in the Rowe Cup, aitf the old mare went one of her best races. She was always going nicely, and in a handy position, and made a determined challenge when the final furlong was being negotiated. * * * Young Blake made up his ground in the Rowe Cup in fine style, and, with a circuit to go, was in such a handy position that he was being named as a likely winner. Re put in a solid run in the straight, but third was his portion * * Florent began like a shot out of * gun in the St. Heliers Handicap, ana was never far away from tha lea s * at any stage. Although he was hardpressed at the finish, he got a decision. Bill Broughton was the reinsman, and he did his job w-eIL « * * Bessie Bogan put in a great run four furlongs from home in the St. Handicap, and was in a handy position at the home turn. C. Donalds mare finished strongly, and S 3 ** backers of the outsider Florent 8- hi 3 fright, but she had to be content with second place. Twice badlv stopped on the ;*ouie for the St. Heliers Handicap, Torpedo Huon put in a dashing finish to fethird money.
