George Nepia is a Great Footballer, but He Likes Ice Cream Just the Same !
/"CONCERNING a reference in the Sydney “Sun” about ice cream not interfering with Don Bradman’s cricket, Mr. Harry Bosward, N.S.W. Rugby Union selector, says that George Nepia, the famous fullback of the All Blacks, is another who does not allow ice cream to interfere with his sport. Last winter the Australian selectors wisely supervised the dinnsr orders given by the Australian players, but not so the New Zealanders, apparently, for George Nepia, after polishing off a hearty meal, topped it with three large ice creams in succession. Members of the All Blacks stated that this was a very mild performance for the famous Maori footballer, whose usual orders, on other than match days, would run into twice that w>. nepia number. “Boy” Charlton is another ice cream eater, even in strict training.
