Cameron to Race For East Sydney RESIDENTIAL LIMITS East Sydney Swirrming Club has secured the cervices of the New Zealand sprint swimming champion, I. W. Cameron, who will take up a business position in Australia in January, The loss to Dominion swimming by Cameron’s departure will be severe, as Cameron, next to 11. Grier, the Queenslander. is the fastest sprint swimmer jn Australia or New Zealand. Cameron’s record times for 50 yards and 300 yards are 23 3-5 s and 55 4-5 s respectively. Cameron is still a young swimmer, lie has represented Wellington with distinction for several seasons. Cameron is an Aucklander by birth. From latest reports, Cameron will represent Fast Sydney at the New South "Wales championships on January 11. Because he will not be resident in Australia for a sufficiently long time, ho will not be able to race as a member of his club. Cameron, indeed, will have to swim as a representative of the New Zealand Swimming Association, but, should he win a race, ho will not be able to hold the title, under the Australian regulations. The Australian championships this season will be held at Hobart, Tasmania, but Cameron will not be open to selection as a New South Wales representative, as he undoubtedly would be with tlie necessary residential Qualifications.
