THE HEAVIEST DOWNPOUR OF RAIN that has been experienced in the South Island for some time occurred early this week. As a result serious floods were threatened at scenes in the latter city during the storm. (1) Southey Street, Sydenham, under water. (2) A cyclist braves the flood in Mollett Street. (3) The bright lights of a picture theatre reflescted in the which invaded Cathedal Square. i (4) The corner of Wordsworth and Colombo Streets.
