Forequarter of lamb sells at 1s a lb; hindquarters, 1s 2d; leg, 1s 4d; loin, 1s 2d; leg of pork, 1s; loin, 1s 1d; pork chops. 1s 2d; pork sausages. 8d; leg of mutton, 9d; shoulder and neck, forequarter, 7d; hindquarter, 9d; loin, 10d: leg and loin chops, 11d; trimmed cutlets, 1s 1d; beef sirloin, 10d; rump steak, 1s 2d; tripe, rolled chuck, rib, topside and prime rib, 7d; dripping and sausages, 6d; corned round, 8d; veal cutlets and steak, 1s; loin, 9d. Whole schnapper sells at 6d a lb; terakihi, 4d; mullet, 6d; hapuka steaks, 1s 2d: terakihi, fresh fillets, schnapper, 10d; John Dory, 8d; lemon fish. 6d. Hothouse cucumbers are selling at a market price of 3s to 7s 6d a dozen; cauliflowers. 3s to 9s a dozen; new potatoes, 2s 6d to 5s a bag; green peas, 2d to 6d a lb; beans, 2d to 9d a lb; radishes, 4d to 8d a dozen bunches; carrots, beet, parsnips and turnips, 1s to 2s a dozen bunches; cabbages, 1s 6d to 3s a dozen; lettuces, 3s to 7s 6d a case; spring onions, 3d to 1s 3d a bundle; and pumpkins, 3s to 5s each.
