CHRISTMAS RECESS
HOUSE OF COMMONS RISES LATE British Official Wireless Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY’, Wednesday. For the first time for more than 40 years the House of Commons did not rise for the Christmas recess until Christmas Eve (yesterday). The House met at 11 a.m. There were 9S questions on the order paper affecting most of the Departments of State, and the discussion on the motion for the adjournment allowed a wide range of subjects to be raised. There was a long discussion on Egypt.
