SWIFT AS A METEOR

ACROSS THE ATLANTIC IN 90 MINUTES GERMAN LOOKS AHEAD United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright Reed. 11 a.m. BERLIN, Wed. Herr Max Valier, lecturing to engineers at Cologne, suggested that it would in the future be possible to construct a rocket airplane which at an altitude of 30 miles would be capable of reaching America from Europe in 90 minutes. He felt sure Germany would produce such a machine.

Herr Max Valier on Monday tested his recoil motor-car driven by liquid fuel instead of a rocket. He attained a speed of more than CO miles an hour. The driver was seated in the middle of the car, with four tanks containing a mixture of liquid oxygen and benzine in front of him, and two behind him. It is stated that the car is a great improvement on the rocket car.
