KAITAIA’S BIG DAY

AERO PAGEANT AND CAR RACING EVENTS ATTACK ON WORLD RECORD An event of considerable importance to the motoring world is being undertaken by the recently-formed Kaitaia Aero and Automobile Racing Club on January 15. For that day a motor and aerial pageant is being arranged. The outstanding feature of the carnival will be the attempt on the world records for one and ten miles, by the well-known racing motorist, “Wizard” Smith, of Australia.

Special train and boat arrangements are being made for the transporting of visitors from Auckland, while talkie pictures will be taken of the whole event.

The prize money is sufficiently large to attract prominent competitors in the motor-cycle, motor-car and airplane contests from all parts of the country. The meeting is to be held on the 90mile beach, which provides ideal conditions for motor racing and airplane contests. All entries close with the secretary of the Kaitaia Aeuro and Automobile Club on January 11.
