GOLDEN WEDDING

PAPAKURA CELEBRATION ENJOYABLE EVENING At the residence of tlieir eldest son, Mr. Arthur Richardson, of Marne Road, Papakura, the golden wedding of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Richardson, sen., of Green Street, Papakura, was celebrated on Saturday last. The party, which was purely a family one, numbered 37. The big dining room was decorated with golden flowers, favours and streamers, and in the centre was a double-decker golden wedding cake, surmounted with flags, bearing the dates “1880-1930,” for it was the first of January. 1880, in Clevedon that the happy couple were married by the late Rev. Thomas Norrie.

Leslie Richardson, a grandson, presented his grandmother with a lovely handbag on behalf of the grandchildren. Another grandson, Ivan Bault, asked his grandfather to accept a large-type hymn book. The guests were:—Mr. and Mrs. A. McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson, jun., Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Baulf, Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Huckstep, Mr. and Mrs. J. Richardson, Miss Ivy Richardson; and the following grandchildren: the Misses Hilda Richardson, P. Giles, J. Taylor, G. Baulf, G. Huckstep, N. Huckstep, N. Richardscn, Nester Richardson, Masters S. Richardson, L. Richardson, R. Richardson, B. Giles, I. Bault, and Mr. and Mrs. C. Ross and Mr. and-Mrs. Slack.
