Mrs. T. 11. Steadman was a passerger on Friday’s South-bound express.

Miss Cathie left on Friday en route to her homo in Wellington.

The Misses Barr are spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Gaulton. who are spending the summer vacation at Castor Bay, Auckland, were passengers on Friday’s express. * • »

Miss Mueller has left to spend the holidays with her family at Mount Eden. Auckland. * * Mrs. Webster, Norfolk Street, left by motor on Tuesday to spend Christinas with her people in Auckland. Mrs. Gillespie left last Friday on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Vaughan, in Christchurch.

Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Norwood, of Woodhill, are in Auckland enjoying a fortnight’s holiday.

Mrs. Barr, who has been staying with her daughter, left for her home in Devonport during the week. Mrs. Chittenden, of Auckland, is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs. Le Pine, Mill Road.

On Tuesday evening last a social was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Almao, in honour of the engagement of their only daughter Ena, to Mr. Keith Meredith.

Miss Connie Brake left during the week to spend a holiday with her aunt. Mrs. T. J. Bittle, of Palmerston North.

On Wednesday evening the friends of Captain Dyer and Mrs. Dyer gave a jolly farewell dance in the Kamo Hall to wish them every happiness in the new home they are going to make in Wanganui. There were a few tables of bridge but the majority of the guests preferred to dance.
