MOTORIST LOSES EYE

STRUCK BY FLYING GLASS Special to THE SUN NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. In a collision between the motorcar he was driving and a motor-lorry, near the Te Roti factory on Sunday, Mr. Hunter Smart, a son of Mr. G. Smart, of Opunake Road, Stratford, lost the sight of one eye through being struck by a splinter of glass from the shattered windscreen. He was rushed to a private hospital at New Plymouth and attended by an eye specialist, but without avail.
