DEAD CARUSO IN 1929 CLOTHING

In the course of an interview given recently by the Italian tenor, Tito Schipa, to the Paris correspondent of the “Daily Chronicle,” the tenor stated that it was his custom and that of some other favourite admirers of Caruso to reclothe the latter’s embalmed body every three years. “We go to Pozzo Reali _ aples,” he said, “and exhume the body. “It is wonderfully preserved, there being even colour in the cheeks; and we dress it in the kind of clothes that happen to be in fashion. “At present Caruso is wearing a frock coat, which suits him very well.”
