MR. EDWARD AUSTIN Edward Austin, who has died Bakurunga at the age of 77. was p<>rn in Shortland Street, Auckland. * a a|:>en! ' hiss early years at Waipu, nnd then commenced bush contracting farming operations. For 17 years he farmed at Puruu, near Whangarei, hnd then lived in Auckland, moving a few years ago to Pakuranga. He married twice and is survived by bis second wife. Of a family of 13, mne survive. There are 21 grandchildren. MR. R. H. PORTER Mr. Robert Henry Porter, who died Hamilton yesterday at the age of was born on Waiheke Island. Auckland, and studied engineering. •• °r many years he was chief engineer at the Taupiri mines and about !l ‘ years ago started business in Hamilton. which he had conducted until *’ !S 'hath. Mr. Porter is survived by his ife, one son and one daughter.
