CHEAPER LIME
The Challenge Phosphate Company, Ltd., of Auckland, is considering a plan for producing agricultural lime in large quantities. The Waitonio County Council w*as recently approached for an option over a reserve at AVaitete. near Te Kuiti. with largo limestone deposits. Cheap lime is considered to be necessary for the province, particularly in the Waikato. The company would install a plant capable of an annual output of 10,000 tons and would attempt to produce lime at a sale price of 15s a ton.
