MORE HERD TESTING
CALF-MARKING SCHEME PROGRESSES Special to THE SUN HAMILTON, Sunday. A year of progress for the New Zealand Co-operative Herd-testing Association is announced by Mr. S. J. Sheaf, who is acting as manager to the organisation. Owing to a change in constitution, the association now is able to test the herd of any dairy farmer. For 1928-29, the Government’s subsidy was over £3,400. Calf-marking had played an improved part. Since the scheme began in 1925, 16,000 calves had been marked. In 1925-26, 641 were marked, and in the first six months of * the current season, 5,500 were marked.
