BUT INQUIRY AFFECTED BY CHRISTMAS Although the market in London for lamb is steady, states a cablegram to tho New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, small interest is being shown owing to the Christmas inquiry for other meat and poultry. Wether and ewe mutton continue firm with better prices and there is a good demand for all frozen beef. New Zealand porker pigs are on a very firm market, all stocks going into consumption on arrival. Stocks of New Zealand baconer pigs are exhausted. Smithfield delivered prices for the week ended December 20 are: New Zealand Wethers and Maidens. —Canterburj' quality, selected brands, 561 b and under, 6 5-8 d a lb; 571 b to 641 b. 6 3-8 d; 651 b to 721 b, 6 l-Bd. Other brands, 661 b and under, 6 3-8 d; 671 b to 641 b. 6Jd; 651 b to 721 b, 6d. New Zealand Ewes.—64lb and under, 4 5-Bd. New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 361 b and under, &3d; 371 b to 421 b, Sd; 431 b to 501 b, 73d. Australian Lambs (new season’s).— Victorian, first quality, 361 b and under. 8 l-8d; 371 b to 421 b, 7 7-Bd.
