NINE DAYS WITHOUT FOOD OR WATER HOPE FOR RECOVERY Reed. 10.45 a.m. SUVA, Today. Another example of the Fijian’s marvellous power of endurance was given when Tanieli, a member of the crew of the schooner Tuicakau, disappeared during a hurricane off Wakaya. He arrived on Saturday at Nalrai cn a raft. He was unable to speak, having been for nine days without food and water, but hopes are entertained for his recovery.
