Tuesday, December 24 and 31.--An overcounter delivery of town letters (registered as well as ordinary) will he made from the Postmen’s Branch, nnrt floor, between 7 and 8 p.m. n On 24th inst. a special clearance of all city letter-boxes will he made at 6 p.m-, but the usual midnight clearance will not be made. Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day) will be observed as a close holiday. Mails for Southern offices will close at 5.30 p.m. The midnight clearance of street letterboxes will be made as usual. Thursday, December 26 (Boxing Dav» and Wednesday. January 1 (New Years Day) will be observed as close holidays. All mails will close at 4 a.m., with the exception that those for Southern offices will close at 5.30 p.m. Only parcels on which the “Express Transit’* fee ha:3 been paid ill be dispatched. The midnight clearance Will be made as usual. There will be no delivery by postmen* Late fee letters for Southern offices may be posted in the box at the entrance to the Railway Station platform, up to 10 minutes before the advertised tin! of departure of the express trains.
