CAR’S NARROW ESCAPE

BOULDERS CRASH DOWN CLIFF MOTOR-CYCLE DAMAGED A motor-car owned by Mr. A. R gg, of Glenfield, Birkenhead, had a narrow escape from being destroyed by a fall of earth at Birkenhead Wharf this morning. Mr. Rigg left the car under the • shelter of the cliff and was talking to some men when he heard a rumbling sound. On looking round he was surprised to see his car partly buried with clay, and big boulders rolling down the cliff. The car was undamaged and Mr. Rigg lost no time in moving it to a place of safety. A boulder hit a motor-circle parked nearby and did considerable damage to it. The place where the: slip occurred is used extensively as a parking place, dispite the fact that many slips have occurred there, and a notice is displayed warning people of the danger.
