PLAZA

“THE FOUR FEATHERS”

“The Four Feathers,” a thrilling and spectacular Cooper-Schoedsack soundsynchronised production, is the principal feature on the programmes at both the Plaza (Queen Street) and Tivoli (Karangahape Road) Theatres. A strong cast interprets the story, William Powell, Clive Brook, Richard Arlen, Fay Wray and Noah Beery sustaining the principal roles. The supporting talkie items include a gazette in sound, a comedy, a talking and singing scena, “Hawaiian Nights,” and a particularly amusing sketch, with songs by Elsie Janis, the London and New York musical comedv star.

After 17 years with Ziegfeld, William Bodery, coloured musical composer and conductor, has given up his stage work for a Fox Movietone contract. He leaves for Hollywood shortly to compose, perfect and arrange music for Fox audible films.
