AUCKLAND TROTTING CARNIVAL COMPETITORS BEST TIMES With eight well-filled events on the Auckland Trotting Club’s programme for Friday, lovers of the light harness sport are assured of some high-class racing at Alexandra Park. Three heats of paramount importance are scheduled on tho opening day—Auckland. Cup, Rowe Trotting Cup, ami Great Northern Derby—and never in the history of tho pastime in this country has such a feast of good things been provided for one day. Th remaining five items will be contesfe l by pacers and trotters of quality, .and every event staged on Friday will provide plenty of interest and excitement ior patrons. The three big heats referred to will, however, bv sufficient inducement to attract a record crowd at Epsom, and spectacular racing, with real thrilling finishes, should be witnessed in these items. While there is good form on all sides to assist backers in making a final selection, the problems to be solved aro decidedly difficult, and betting will not be confined to a few in each instance. For the benefit of readers, and as a further guid-e to followers of the sport in their arduous task of spotting the dividend-payers, “Abaydos” appends the best time of each candidate in the two Cups and De.rby.
