PENALTY FOR MURDER OF CASHIER DEFIANT AND IMPUDENT Reed. 9.5 a.m. MONTREAL, I rlday. Two brothers, Norman and Lawrence Menard, both under 20 years of age, were hanged together at Bordeaux Gaol today for the murder of John Durham, a cashier, in an attempted hold-up during a blizzard last February. At the trial both boys were impudent and defiant. By a coincidence the hangings took place during a snowstorm. Both had previously served sentences for hold-lps.
