YE OLDE PIRATE SHIPPE
Dancing will be enjoyed again this evening amid the unique surroundings of Ye Olde Pirate Shippe, Milford Beach. The talented “Ye Versatile Pirates” Jazz Orchestra will play all the latest and brightest music and a very happy time should be enjoyed by all. Late transport will be available.
Greta Garbo’s latest starring vehicle, written and directed by Jacques Feyder, famous French director, has been finally titled, “The Kiss.” In this picture Miss Garbo plays the role of a French woman who stands her trial for the slaying of her husband, while Conrad Nagel, in the leading male role, plays the part of the lawyer who defends her.
Conrad, Mitchell and Gottler havw written some “corking” song numbers for “The New Orleans Frolic," “Mona,” which will be sung by Frank Richardson, and “Snake Hips,” a novelty number sung and danced by Dick Deene. Tom Patricola, America’s famous eccentric dancer, will also contribute a number to this new Fox Movietone production.
Sonya Levien, author of the scenario for the screen version of “Behind That Curtain,” Earl Derr Biggers’s mystery romance, will prepare the script for Will Rogers’s first all-dialogue picture for Fox Films “They Had To See Paris.” Owen Davis is writing the original story for Roher’s picture. The famous playwright’s son, Owen Davis, junr., will play an important supporting role. Frank Borzage will direct the production.
In addition to James Gleason, his wife, Lucille Webster, and Tom Kennedy, the following have been added to the cast of the “Shannons of Broadway’”:—James Breedem, who appeared as the juvenile in the Los Angeles stage version; Charles Grape win, George Summerville, Harry Tyler, Gladys Crolius, Tom Santschi, and Helen Mehrmann.
