AVIATION AT TE AROHA
FORMATION OF NEW CLUB From Our Own Correspondent TE AROHA, Today. At a public meeting, helcr last evening, it was decided to form the Te Aroha Aero Club. The Mayor stated that the aviation committee had compiled sufficient particulars to warrant a club being formed. Dr. Dempster stated that a satisfactory landing-ground was available at Waihou, and public interest in aviation matters was becoming keener. Mr. F. S. Board quoted particulars of an offer by Hamilton Airways which was prepared to find a plane and instructor, also a ground engineer, at a nominal rate. The generosity of Mr. A. P. Goodfellow would provide a landing-ground, while offers of timber and free labour for the airdrome were being received. On the motion of Mr. R. Coulter and Dr. Dempster it was decided to form the Te Aroha Aero Club. Officers ejected were: President, Dr. Dempster; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. Coulter, J. Buchanan; secretary, Mr. George fledge; honorary solicitor, Mr. G. H. Nicholls; committee, Messrs. R. Burke. R. H. Galloway, W. J. Andrew, J. D. Mac Kay, L. Mackie, J. B. Thomas, F. Walters, S. Davies, A. D. Wallace, R. Candy, N. G. MacLeod, F. H. Jones, W. R. Lowry, G. Troughton, R. Willis and G. Page.
