BIG COMPANIES FAIL
THREE CRASHES IN WEEK IN AMERICA HUGE CAPITAL INVOLVED NEW YORK, Thursday. With the announcement today of the failure of the International Combustion Engineering Corporation, with a capital of over £8,600,000, the third and largest insolvency of the week occurred. The American Piano Company, one of the largest producers of the instrument in America, with a capital in excess of £600,000, and the Sonora Products Corporation, a noted producer of phonographic devices, were the other concerns involved.
The Combustion Corporation was reported to be solvent, but unable to obtain necessary capital. The concern entered a receivership in equity, following an application filed by the Bethlehem Steel Company.
