HANDICAPS FOR TOMORROW WESTERN SPRINGS STADIUM A full programme of 16 events will 4 ® u.t tho Western Springs stadium tomorrow evening. Three Australian stars will give exhibitions o£ broadsiding which promise to eclipse any performance yet seen in Auckland. Jimmy Latson, who delighted thousands last Saturday, will again appear, and with him will bo Billy Sticpewich, who made records on the cinder tracks ln Christchurch and Wellington, and a. Tasmanian crack, Les Lawrence. The*;© three will ride a special match race against a team of Auckland riders who will be selected on the track. The two outstanding Auckland riders undoubtedly are Bill Herbert and Alf. Mattson, holder of the lap record. Their handicaps have been reduced by one second this week, but even off this mark they should give the men from across the Tasman a good run. The race for beginners will begin at 7.45 p.m. tomorrow, and the main programme will begin sharp at 8 o’clock. AT BLANDFORD PARK MOTOR-CYCLES TO RACE Tho second meeting on the cinders at Blandford Park tomorrow evening promises to be even more exciting than the opening night on Wednesday. Faster times are promised, as riders have been practising regularly and have now become more used to the new type of track, with its different style of broad-siding. The winner of the Gold Helmet race on the opening night, Charles Goldberg, will be seen defending his title, which, incidentally, carries an allowance of £lO a week until the holder is beaten. Len Sowerby, who made such a fine showing for his first appearance on cinders, and Cyril Walker, who holds the track record from a rolling start, will both be seen in action. Other riders on Saturday will include Len Coulthard, Alby Lemon, and the Australian, Jack Peek.
