SLEEPING OUT
ARRESTED AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE Found asleep in the grounds of Government House last night, Michael Curran was arrested by Constable Morgan and charjed at the Police Court this morning. He was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment. Curran, a labourer, aged 60, was charged with being found on enclosed premises. His explanation was that he couldn’t find lodgings in the City. “He won’t try to find lodgings,” commented Sub-Inspector McCarthy. “He has a long list for vagrancy and drunkenness. He has been before the court three times during the last two months. Anything may happen with him wandering about private property at night. He is hopeless.” Staff-Captain Holmes, of the Salvation Army, suggested that the man be given a chance, but Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., considered it hardly worth while.
