PRIZES PRESENTED i I Yesterday afternoon the annual I i prize-giving ceremony of the students j j at the Elam School of Art was held, | 31 r. C. J. Tunks, chairman, presenting} I the prizes. j The prizes were given by friends of j the school. 31 r. Tunks. in an address |to the students, quoted 3tr. Stanley Baldwin’s remarks to members of the i Workingmen's Clubs of England: I "33 lien one sets out to study a subject | one finds out how little one knows | about it. but it is a good thing beI cause it makes one humble,” He said ! it was a wise thing to make efficiency j the object of one's work—not the attainment of prize. The prize list was as follows: Seniors.—Life painting, Ruth Innes; life drawing, Ruth Innes; outdoor studies, Blanche Hazelwood; modelling, Ruth Innes and Gwenda Jones, equal; special mention, Blanche Hazelwood; lettering, Gwenda Jones. Junior A.—Outdoor studies: Sybil White, first prize; Grace Cambridge, | special mention. Still life: Jean Me- ! Donald, first prize; Sybil White and j Grace Cambridge, special mention. Drawing: Gilbert Nichols, first prize; Madge Bello, Sybil White, Grace Cam- ! bridge and David Sears, special mention j Lettering: Grace Riaeli. first prize; Annie : O'Meara, Phyllis Nelson and Ellen !
