In a Minor Key
Rangiora
I have not found it very dark—the night. But hushed and kinder than the day’s full light; When I need fight no longer nor be strong. But kneel and weep a little o’er some wrong.
I have not found it very cold—the wind. But clean and soothing to a heated mind Wherein to stand bareheaded and to win A courage new, old tasks to re-begin.
Should it behind me steal and snatch my breath, I do not think it very fearful—Death. JOHN STOKOE.
