“TRANSPORT SIX”
ELECTOR AND COUNCIL An elector. Mr. H. A. Evans, again wrote regarding Air. J. A. C. Allum’s resignation from the Transport Board, and asked iC the council had written to tho board acquainting it of the resignation. If not, should it not be done now? he asked. The writer further requested that tho electorat© be advised of the Supreme Court judges’ full decision about the council’s removal and reappointment of the "Transport Six.” The suggestion of the Mayor, Air. G. Baildon, to defer the question until later in the meeting was strongly opposed by Cr. J. R. Lundon, who explained an elector’s right to communir cat© on a public question. The subject of the “Transport Six” was, he said, of public notoriety. The question could not be dealt with at the late meeting.
