THEFT OF BALL

PICKED UP ON SHOP FLOOR

The theft of a rubber ball valued at Is from Woolworths, Ltd., resulted in W. H. Clark being fined £2 at the Police Court this morning.

Mr. Thomson appeared for Clark and pleaded guilty. Defendant had been bouncing the ball on the floor. It rolled away and he picked it up. Counsel asked for dismissal of the charge, but Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., held that the man was too old to receive the benefit of such leniency.
