VACANT TRANSPORT SEAT
NOW FOUR CANDIDATES LAST-MINUTE NOMINATION Four nominations have been received by the Transport Board Returning Officer, Mr. W. St. J. Clarke, for the vacant seat pn the board. Nominations closed at noon today. A fourth candidate entered the lists this morning. He is Mr. Andrew Cathey, of Mount Albert. The seat was made vacant by the resignation of Mr. F. S. Morton, who has gone to South Africa on a healthrecruiting trip. The candidates who will go to the poll on Monday, December 30, are: Cathey, Andrew. Clark, Reginald George. Morton, Edward. Tansley, George Edward. Mr. Cathey was nominated by John Park and Thomas Ireland: Mr. Clark, by Joseph Speight Hardwicke, Cyril L. Slyfield, Israel J. Goldstine, James Wood and W. G. Mulholland; Mr. Morton, by Arthur Charles Tonkin and Robert Buchanan; Mr. Tansley, by George Winstone, Alexander Milligan and Henry Luke.
Mr. Cathey is an ex-employee of the Auckland Electric-Power Board.
