TE PUKE NOTES

A cricket match was played at the week-end between the Te Puke Club and the District High School. The, former won by 197 to 137. For the winners Mason knocked up 111 not out, and Ralfe 37, while for the losers Murray compiled 67 and Lees 28. Three weeks’ leave of absence, on account of indisposition, was granted the town clerk, Mr. Earp, at the meeting of the town board. Mr. F. Bostock a member -of the board who had met with a severe accident a few weeks ago, was also granted an extension of leave. The solicitors for the estate asked permission • to uplift the purchase money, amounting to £3OO, for the Mission Hall site. The necessary authority w.as given the clerk to pay over the money. The board decided to co-operate in the scheme of advertising to stimulate the use of electricity, as contained in a letter received from the ElectricPower Boards’ Association.
