COMPENSATION FOR WORKER t *- His right thumb cut by a saw while cutting wood »«n August 2 last, James King, sued his employers, Sorenson and Bridges, wood and coal merchants, for compensation, in the Arbitration (Court yesterday. The sum of £24 12s was paid into Jbourt bv the defendants, representing 41 per cent, total permanent incapacity. Medical evidence for tl e claimant Concerning the extent of incapacity induced by the injury was given by Drs. S. A. Bull. K. S. Mucky, and H. F. Holmden. whose estimates of disability ranged from 20 per cent, to 40 per cent. For the defence. Dr. E. H. B. Milbom and Mr. M. G. Pcza.ro fixed incapacity at from 3 to 5 per cent. The court awarded full compensation at £3 a week until November 22, and fixed a further award at 6 per cent, of total disability, with costs.
