QUARTERMASTER LEAVES SHIP CAPTAIN DEPOSITS £2OO Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. - Tl,e Chinese quartermaster of the oil-tank ship Akera, which has been discharging motor spirit at Wellington, was missed from the vessel yesterday morning. The Chinese members ot the crews of visiting vessels are prohibited from remaining in New Zealand, and the masters of these ships are responsible for a £2OO forfeit for each Chinese in the event of any staving here. * Captain Lindstol, of the Akera, was required to deposit a bond of £2OO witrp the Customs officials for the missing man before the vessel sailed on the return to the East. The man will be sought by the police and if apprehended will be deported.
