THREE MEN HURT

SCAFFOLDING COLLAPSES IN SYMONDS STREET INJURIES NOT SERIOUS The collapse of a scaffolding in Upper Symonds Street this afternoon resulted in three men being injured. James F. Brown, a builder, aged 33, married and residing at 3 Camborne Road, Edendale, was on the top of the scaffolding when it gave way. He fell to the ground, suffering concussion and bruises to the head and body. Two men who were below the scaffolding were also hurt. George Bishop, aged 53, married, residing at 7 Pitt Street, had his left hand crushed, and William E. Walker, aged 49, married, of 68 Vincent Road, Mount Albert, suffered a crushed left hand and fingers. The injured men, who were employed by Mr. Cornish, buildeT, were removed to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance. They are progressing favourably.
