DUNEDIN WANTS SERVICE j From Our Ou:n Correspondent DUNEDIN, Today. The necessity for maintaining the service of the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare to Dunedin was emphasised by a deputation from the Otago Fruit Brokers’ Association, which waited on the Minister of Railways and Customs, the Hon. W. B. Taverner, yesterday. The Minister undertook to place tcc representations of the deputation hefafe the Prime Minister and before Apirana Ngata, Minister in charge or the Cook Islands. He asured the deputation of his emphatic support in regard to the retention of the service. ? 0k pointed out that the service was maintained at a considerable anni@‘ loss. At present, he said, methods wcrf being discussed in an endeavour to minimise the loss, and Cabinet s cision was expected at an early date.
