A one-man hose and stand-pipe event competition by members of the Northcote Fire Brigade for a trophy presented by Mr. L. S. Maxwell, an honorary member of the brigade, took place on Saturday on tbe Municipal Recreation Reserve and resulted as follows: —Second Driver A. Bradburn, 43sec: Fireman G. Stewart, 50sec; Fireman A. Hurley, SO l-ssee: Fireman H. Pearce. 52sec: Driver G. Hart, r>3see. The judges were Captain W. Roberts and Foreman A. Brodie: timekeepers. Foreman A. Brodie and Driver G. Hart.
