BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
FOR CRICKET CLUB FUNDS A small, but most enthusiastic band of Devonport amateurs journeyed to Qlorit on Saturday last, and gave an entertainment in aid of the Glorit Cricket Club’s funds. The old school was packed, and the long programme of songs, recitations and sketches was received with enjoyment. Five sketches were produced by the visitors, the parts being most capably filled by the following:—the Misses Alison Crawford. Claris Clist and Joyce Edmonds, and Messrs. Alfred Clist and Stanley Davis. Additional items were provided by Glorit talent, Messrs. Tyler-Davies, Lane, Dye and Scurrah. A dance was held at the conclusion of the concert, and a thoroughly successful evening finished at midnight. Mr. William Gardiner thanked the visitors for the entertainment which would result in a substantial profit to the Cricket Club.'The party returned to town on Sunday night well pleased with the reception given and the hospitality extended.
