EMPRESS, NEWTON
Some thrilling aviation scenes are serened in “The Flying Fool,” now at the Empress Theatre, Newton, which unfolds the story of a stunt flyer wto endeavours to cure his younger brother of an infatuation for a cabaret dancer. Complications are caused when he falls in love with the girl himself, and the consequent quarrel between the brothers provides the picture with some very dramatic incidents. William Boyd, who always acquits himself well in roles demanding outdoor action, has the leading part, and he is ably supported by Marie Frevost. The second feature, “Noisy Neighbours,” gives prominence to the exploits of the Quillan family, who art well-known for their feats of acrobatic daring. The story deals with tne adventures of a troupe of acrobats, am* many scenes of absorbing interest are shown. Outstanding performances are given by Eddie Quillan, Theodore Roberts and Alberta Vaughan. There is an excellent programme ® shorter talking films.
