Value of Mo to r-Ca rs In Giving Freedom Owning a car unquestionably adds a new zest to life, and everyone who buys a car, whether it be a luxurious sedan or a modest light car, soon appreciates how much better it makes life worth living. One thing is certain, few who once enjoy the benefits and delights of motoring ever willingly give it up, and that is why there are so many cars on Dominion roads. Happy family outings, quicker and more comfortable transport, freedom from irksome restrictions as to where and when one travels, are advantages that alone make car ownership so desirable from a family stand-point. In fact, a car is almost a necessity to enable one to reap, in full, the amenities of presentday life. The wide range of reason-ably-priced new cars now available brings the car within the means of tens of thousands of New Zealanders who are missing one of the greatest gifts of the century. Again, carefully selected “used” cars are obtainable at prices that enable almost everyone to enjoy the benefits that motor-car ownership bestows.
There is now one motor vehicle to every 5.4 persons in the United States. In the State of Kansas there is a vehicle to every 2.7 of the population; Georgia has the lowest figure, with one for 11.6. The total number of cars and commercials registered is 22,046,957, a gain of 11 per cent, on last year; the State of Florida showed the highest percentage gain in the season, with 59.9, and South Dakota the lowest, with 0.1.
