WEYMANN BODIES IN U.S
STUTZ FOLLOWS EUROPE’S LEAD Traditionally a leader in introducing new and advanced features to the Ame 1 lean motor-car industry Stutz again pioneered by encouraging the establishment of an American plant of the Weymann Body Company, which in Europe has tor several years supplied bodies for everything from Rolls-Royce to baby car” Flexible bodies have so many points ot superiority over the ordinary body construction that their almost instantaneous success is easily understood. Not only is it more difficult to overturn a Weymann-bodied car because of its light superstructure, but the radical reduction of weight results in increased power, speed, economy, acceleration, hill-climbing ability, road adhesiveness, and easy riding. In fact, almost every quality of a motorcar’s performance is enhanced by the Weymann "body. Weymanns are built with the triple purpose of eliminating weight and noise and increasing comfort, A Stutz Weymann flexible-bodied sedan weighs approximately half the passenger load less than a similar type with steel and wood body. The advantage, however, is not so much in the amount of gross weight saved but in lowering the centre of gravity. ’ The weight reduction is practically all in the upper part of the car, above the frame. It is apparent that with very little dead weight above the car frame, the danger of turning over is largely eliminated.
