SUPPLEMENTARY LOAN
NEWMARKET WORKS
Notification of the Local Government Loans Board’s approval of the proposal to raise a supplementary loan of £IOO for street works was received by the Newmarket Borough Council last evening.
Appreciation of the work of the Newmarket Fire Brigade in dealing with the recent fire at their premises was contained in a letter from the TaupoTotara Timber Company, Limited. The firm forwarded a donation of £lO 10s to be applied for the benefit of the brigade. It was reported that the library subscribers now total 228 and the books in the institution number 3.126.
