RACING AT WELLINGTON Press Association WELLINGTON, Sunday. Racing on the dirt track yesterday, W. Kilminster won the first division of the handicap event. His match with Mangham was given up after Mangham had fallen three times in four attempts. Kilminster created a new record for New Zealand, doing a mile from a rolling start in lmin 23sec, which was 6sec better than his own Australian record. Kilminster also made a new record from a standing sart of lmin 27 4-ssec. At an open golf tournament at the Avalon course, Santa Catalina, California, W. Melliorn had a score of 63 in the first round. The par for the course is 67. .T. H. Kirkwood tied for fourth place with a score of 66.
