COSTUME PARTY

HAPPY CHILDREN'S FUNCTION AT REMUERA MRS. J. M. WILSON IS HOSTESS A jolly children's party was given by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wilson at their home, Roselands, Portland Road, Remuera, on Saturday afternoon, the hostess being their daughter, Miss Gay Wilson. About forty guests were present, all wearing fancy dress, which gave an added touch of colour to the beautiful garden, with its green lawns and beds of roses. The hostess, with her mother, received the guests in the entrance hall, and later, the weather being gloriously warm and tine, the garden formed the background for exciting games and competitions. Here, a Christmas tree formed the centre of attraction, a gift being provided for each child and adult. Afternoon tea was served under a striped awning on the lawn. Mrs. Wilson was wearing a frock of black crepe de chine with a floral patof gold and primrose. Miss Gay AA ilson was a charming little Lido lady in a multi-coloured suit and wide-brimmed hat. Among the adult friends present wmre:—Mrs. Whitney, Mrs. Tiarks Mrs. Kim branch, Mrs. Rainger, Mr. F. Cox. Mrs. Dove, Miss Didsbury and Miss Howard. The children present included Diana Hogge.
