PERSONAL.—Captain A. R. Stewart is now in command of the tanker Otokia, which arrived at Auckland this morning from Wellington, having relieved Captain E. Harris for holiday tJeave. Mr. S. Ewan, who has been on holiday leave, has joined the Ivurow as chief engineer.
Mr. A. E. Taylor left Wellington by the Ulimaroa on Friday for Sydney, en route for Melbourne, where he will join the Loongana as purser.
KARTIGI FOR AUSTRALIA.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the steamer Kartigi, on completion of her discharge at Auckland, proceeds to Xapier and Greymouth to load for Launceston and Sydney.
AORANGI FOR SYDNEY.—Due at Auckland on Sunday, December 29, from Vancouver and way ports, the Union Company’s R..M.M.S. Aorangi is scheduled to sail again at 10 o’clock on Monday evening, December 30, for Sydney. NIAGARA IN PORT. —An arrival at Auckland this morning from Sydney was the Union Company’s R.M.S. Niagara, which later berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to land passengers and mails, and to load for America. The vessel left the New South Wales port last Thursday, and experienced a good weather passage across the Tasman Sea. The following passengers disembarked at Auckland:— First Saloon. —Mrs. W. MATAROA TO COM PLETt.- Leaving AVellington at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Auckland, the ShaAV, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Alataroa is duo here on Wednesday to complete her discharge under the agency of A. S. Paterson and Company. HERMINIUS WITH HARDWOOD,— An expected arrival at Auckland on Wednesday is the Aberdeen-Commonwealth steamer Hevminius from Bunbury with Australian hardwoods for discharge at Auckland, AVellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. L. D. Nathan and Company will act as the local agent. MARAMA FROM SYDNEY.—Due at Auckland at 7 a.m. tomorrow from Sydney, the Union Company’s inter-colonial passenger steamer Alarama will berth at the Prince's AVharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The Alarama is scheduled to leave Auckland at noon next Friday on her return trip to Sydney. MAUI POMARE REPORTS. —According to a radio message received by Spedding, Limited, the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare is due at Auckland at daylight tomorrow from Norfolk Island. She will berth at the King’s Wharf. On December 31 vessel will leave Auckland for Niue Island and Apia, Samoa. CUMBERLAND LEAVES CURACAO.— Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Federal steamer Cumberland left Curacao last Wednesday morning for New Zealand ports, en route from Liverpool. The vessel is due at Auckland on January 3. KARAMEA LEAVES LONDON. —The ShaW, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Karamea is reported to have left London on Friday for Australian ports. After discharge in Australia the vessel is to load for Home in Xew Zealand during February and March. MAHANA DUE TOMORROW. —-With West of England cargo for discharge at Auckland, AVellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Alaliana is due here at midday tomorrow' from Liverpool. She will berth at the Queen's AVharf to unload the local portion under the agency of L. D. Nathan and Company. TOFUA RETURNING. —Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Island passenger steamer Tofua left Apia. Samoa, at 9.15 p.m. last Friday for Suva and Auckland. She is due at the Fijian port tomorrow and leaves again on AVednesday for Auckland, where she is due early next Monday morning. NORFOLK SAILING. —At noon tomorrow the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company hopes to dispatch the Federal steamer Norfolk from Auckland for Gisborne. AVellington and Napier to fill up for Home. She is scheduled to sail finally from Xapier on December 27 for London via Panama. PORT HARDY DUE. —Due at Auckland tonight from Tokomaru Bay, the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Hardy will berth at the Central AVharf to complete her loading under the agency of the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel finally from this port next Saturday for Halifax and London, via Panama. FALSTERBO DUE TOMORROW. —No radio message as to the time of her arrival has yet been received by A. G. Frankham, Ltd., from the Swedish motor-ship Falsterbo, the latest news from which stated that she expected to arrive in port tomorrow from Port Arthur (Texas). The vessel will berth at AAestern AVharf to discharge the local portion of her cargo of petroleum products from that port. To complete unloading she later proceeds to AVellington, Lyttelton and Australian ports. KENT TO LOAD. —The Xew Zealand Shipping Company retports that the Federal steamer Kent, which arrived at Dunedin at 1.30 p.m. dn Friday from Lyttelton to put out the remainder of her cargo is to commence loading for London at the end of December at Bluff. She will load also at Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington.
